OUR ISLAND
This island goes by many names: Haiti, Quisqueya, Hispaniola. Haiti was the original Taino or Arawak name which means land of many hills. Haiti, as a nation adopted this name in memory of the native people and in good keeping with the unforgiving moutainous terrain on Haiti´s side of the islands.
